Hiking in the region
We are here for you.
"You can see better by walking," said the painter Paul Klee.
Hiking is more. We feel, smell and hear more intensively what surrounds us and perceive ourselves better. The paths that
the Schladming Dachstein Region has in store for you are as varied as the experiences that hiking makes possible.
Mighty peaks, quiet mountain lakes, green forests and imposing suspension bridges.
Countless peaks are just waiting to be climbed by you. No matter if you are a mountaineer or hiker, the Schladming Dachstein Region
offers the right thing for everyone. Whether from the very bottom on foot or with a little help by gondola, the view from the top
over the Ennstal is priceless and a wonderful feeling.
Giglachsee, Riesachsee and Spiegelsee are definitely worth a trip. And with the Schladming Dachstein Sommercard, which is included with us, you can use almost all toll roads and gondolas for free.
Just a quick note about Lake Spiegelsee: do you know where it got its name? I will tell you. In calm and beautiful weather the Dachstein is reflected in it. An easy hike (about 1 hour) leads you there directly from the Reiteralm. An insider tip from us: At the Reiteralmhütte near Hüttenwirt Markus you can get the unique, incredibly good tasting blueberry pancakes with vanilla ice cream. The view of the Dachstein mountains is free of charge :-)
The Dachstein - a world above things
The new panorama gondola takes you high up in the sky. It will take you up to 2700 meters to the highest mountain in Styria, with a height of 2996 meters. Attractions such as the suspension bridge, the ice palace, the skywalk or the stairs into nothing provide thrills and an unforgettable mountain experience. In sunny weather you have a clear view up to the Großglockner.
